I'm running for the Chicago School Board because our public schools are headed in the wrong direction.
I served 27 years as a Chicago police officer. I'm a graduate of the Chicago Public Schools. And like you, I pay the property taxes that fund them. I've seen firsthand how politics and special interests are failing our kids.
CPS just passed a $10 billion budget that only balances if Springfield sends money the state has never promised. Test scores are stuck. Violence in our schools rose while the Board pushed police out. And the people running the system answer to Brandon Johnson and the Chicago Teachers Union’s extreme leadership, not to parents.
Enough. I'm stepping up to fight for safer schools, honest budgets, real accountability, and more quality options for families.
This seat is nonpartisan, and that is how I will serve. This race is about whether our schools work for the children who learn in them, the parents who count on them, and the taxpayers who pay for them.
It's time to get politics out of our schools and put students first.

Meet Margie Luczak
Candidate for Chicago Board of Education - District 1A Margie B. Luczak is a dedicated public servant and longtime Northwest Side resident. A retired Chicago police officer with 27 years of service, she has spent her career protecting and advocating for our communities. Born in Poland and fluent in Polish, Margie immigrated to the United States in 1973 and proudly built her life in Chicago. She is a product of Chicago Public Schools, having attended Curie High School, and continued her education at Richard J. Daley College and Loyola University Chicago, where she studied psychology. Margie is committed to bringing strong leadership, accountability, and transparency to the Chicago Board of Education. As the District 1A representative, she will work full-time to ensure families, students, and taxpayers have a voice, and that our schools are safe, effective, and responsive to community needs.
